Clephan's computer lab (00.16) moves to a different location during the coming weeks. If you have any work, which is not backed up yet, please do so now.
The lab will be re-imaged and set up in room 1.33 at Queen's building.

Final year showcase event Friday 23rd May, 2.00pm, PACE Studio 1

Final year students present work created this year, including 'What Lies Beyond...Lies Within Us' by Sagnik Basu (8-channel music), 'Wind: Movement One, Power' and 'Pulsations' by Fenton Hutson, and audiovisual work by Rory Webster, Seb Ferraro, Sam Warren, David Gurney and Alex Cable. All welcome!

3rd Year MUST3028 Installation Art projects this week

Do come along and support the third years as they present their final installations over the next few days.

Monday 12 May, 4.00-5.00pm
• Sagnik Basu, Hanging Gardens: A.D. 2077: This installation is set in the year 2077, a post-apocalyptic world where survival becomes the first priority of human life. With the constant diminishing of the human race due to a deadly virus that has been spread throughout the world, survivors have been assembled at the safest place on Earth; their new home - 'The Hanging Gardens'. A place that aims at creating a new civilization....a new beginning. (Foyer, PACE building)
Monday 12 May, 4.30-5.30pm
• Chris Inglis, Create. Record. Destroy: An interactive installation exploring the simultaneous creation and destruction of a recording. (The Looking Glass Pub, Braunston Gate )

Tuesday 13 May, 2.00-4.00pm
• Sam Topley, a little bag of thoughts: a reflection of shared nonsense (PACE Studio 1)

Wednesday 14 May, 2.00-4.00pm
• Szymon Gabrielczyk, In Ten Years Time: A created space that encompasses the audience to surmise about the decade to come (PACE Studio 1)
• Sam Willmer, [more info to follow] (Campus Centre 2.17)
• Fenton Hutson, Rhythmic Sounds of Trinity Gardens explores the sounds that can be heard and can't be heard of Trinity Gardens. Because the piece is influenced by John Luther Adam's piece Inuksuit, it emphasises on the rhythms of these sounds rather than their pitch. (Trinity House Gardens).

• Max Quick, The Sight of Solitary: It has been documented that conditions of sensory deprivation often induce the mind to shift into a drastically altered state of consciousness and perception. This installation sets out to explore the audiovisual experience of this phenomenon.

The AV loans centre is moving!

Sound Technician Volunteers Sought for Artbeat - Deadline 12 May

The ArtBeat Community Arts Festival in Clarendon Park (5-15 June) is seeking volunteers to help setup and run live sound setups for the festival. This is a chance for qualified students to put their skills to work, make some connections, gain experience, and build their CVs. We would tend to recommend this for current year-three students in particular.
